We believe there are four pillars of thought that must be understood and addressed in order for sound development to occur: environment, economics, design, and community.
We must understand the natural systems that drive our world (environment), the realities of the local financial system (economics), the ability to interrelate all of these factors (design), and the values of the people you design for (community). When all of these factors are addressed, with reason and skill, places of enduring value result.
At Harvest Design we believe the landscape architect’s area of expertise typically begins at the building foundation and extends to the property lines. Our approach to any project is to become involved with all parties in a creative collaboration to define and understand the scope of each specific project; blending our work with the knowledge of other professional members of the design team.
We work with other disciplines as team members (architects, civil engineers, developers, and planners, among others). Our firm understands the domain, materials, and processes these allied professions incorporate and integrate with ours.
